News 2015/2016

January 15th 2016

We had an exciting start to the new year this week with the birth of two new pupils! Mr Breathnach's class took part in the Cock-a-doodle-doo project where 5 eggs were delivered to the school on Monday along with an incubator, brooder, feed and  other equipment. On Wednesday afternoon at 4.15pm our first chick hatched, a blue hen. It was very exciting. On Thursday evening at 5.10pm a second chick hatched, this time a brown hen. The chicks are both healthy and lively!  We have 3 eggs remaining so are hoping we may have another surprise soon! The chicks will be taken back to the Cock-a-doodle company to a farm in Kilkenny next Friday. A big thank you to Mr Breathnach and his class for giving each class an opportunity to visit the chicks in their classroom.
